Business Development Manager

Overall objectives of the role:
 
Responsible for the development of the workstation business in Germany (50%), UK, France and Italy in the LE Segment; Build partnershIps with customers and software partners and drive acquisition of new workstation customers via close contact with the sales teams in LE, with the ultimate goal of increasing  market share for Dell in the workstation business.
 
Specific tasks and goals:
  • Build partnerships with existing and potential workstation customers by coordinating the efforts of sales, opportunity management, marketing and pre and post sales technical support to maximise success.
  • Build and nurture the relationship and partnership with the strategic ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) in the workstation markets
  • Identify market and sales opportunities in the workstation space and plan relevant activities for LE with marketing and sales to grow the market share.
  • Support LE sales on large and strategic workstation projects.
  • Plan and execute independent acquisition activities in the workstation area with agreement with LE sales or account teams
  • Development and execution of strategic plans that are customer relevant and build revenue and sales volume of workstation products in LE
  • Market analysis and competitive feedback, target customer/vertical analysis/definition information provision to Sales and Marketing management and the relevant LE account teams.


Functie vereisten

Communication and skills:
  • Ongoing communication wth marketing, sales, pre-sales and Services, along with EMEA BDM for workstations
  • Inclusion of product marketing, pricing and the EMEA Workstation group on projects
  • Regular communication with other workstation specialists in the EMEA and the US to develop and/or exchange best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of the workstation market (hardware and software/verticals) and the competition in this market, preferably in the LE space
  • Winning Spirit, Customer Focus und Drive for Results
  • Good understanding of sales skills and economic/business interdependencies
  • Willing to travel up to 50%
Qualifications
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in IT, of which 2-3 years in the workstation business (business development, sales or similar area)
  • Good knowledge of the hardware requirements for workstation
  • Appropriate MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word) skills
  • Independent, work under pressure, self-motivated, team-player
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Convincing and engaging presentation skills
  • Excellent language skills, minimum English and German, preferably also French and/or Italian
